This means that the face can withstand splashes of water. It will not get messed up or have issues working when it is splashed occasionally with water. This is great news for me because I walk to work every day and am outside a lot. This leads to me being caught in the rain every now and then and I don't have to worry about my watch failing because it gets hit with a few raindrops. Unfortunately, the watch is not water proof, so you will not be able to go swimming with the watch on. But, the splash proof feature is very handy when it comes to a lifestyle like mine where I am very active and do not have to worry about harming my watch by exposing it to a little bit of water or sweat.
