Recommended Products/Videos

I have created a list of products that I am especially fond of. I have tried to list a variety of different products I enjoy using from different brands in hopes that you have access to at least a few of these listed. I also have listed a few Youtube channels of pyros that I love to watch.

Firecrackers: One of the first firecrackers I would recommend everyone try are Black Cat strips. Black Cat is a very well known brand of fireworks that has been around for years. I think that their best product is their firecrackers. You can buy "bricks" that contain 80 packs of 16 or half bricks that have 40 packs of 16. I like to buy the long strips that come in multiples of 100. You usually see either 100 or 200 strips of Black Cat firecrackers. These are a great product to use during the day time and create some noise for your celebration.

Another firecracker I recommend trying out is the M-200 firecrackers from Shelton Fireworks. I know I have said that I am not too fond of Shelton in the past, but these firecrackers actually pack a punch. The M-200 crackers are individual firecrackers, meaning they are not strips and will just have one loud bang once they are lit. These crackers are relatively cheap and are surprisingly some of the best performing crackers I have had from the consumer market. If you are ever at Shelton, I highly suggest picking these up.

Roman Candles: Roman candles are always a fun product to use with the whole family. One of my favorite candles are the Magic Lights candles by White Ass Fireworks. These candles are not safe to hold in the hand and must be handled carefully though. These are relatively large candles that have 5 shots per candle. Since they are large, you will want to place them in a secure firing tube or secure them on the ground in sand. Magic Lights are a great candle with loud explosions in the sky. These candles can be hard to find and might run you a high price. But, if you can find them, I recommend trying them at least once.

Aerial Cakes: The first cake that I would recommend is a 200 gram. It is called "Bling Bling" and is made by Brothers Fireworks. It is a 36 shot cake, so it has a lot of shots for a small 200 gram product. This is one of my favorite cakes because it has many different effects in it. My favorite effect of aerial fireworks is a shimmering effect. This cake has tons of shimmering along with crackling effects. I recommend this cake due to the many effects, long duration, and cheap cost. This is one of the more popular 200 gram cakes, so you can most likely find it at a fireworks store near you.

Another cake recommendation I have is for Cobalt Bomb, a 500 gram cake made by Brothers Fireworks. This is a great cake because it features whistling and shimmering effects. This is a 36 shot cake and is very long duration. Cobalt Bomb makes a wonderful show piece. It is part of a set that also includes Hydrogen Bomb, Atom Bomb, and Neutron Bomb. All four cakes go together and have different effects, but perform in relatively the same fashion. I highly recommend you pick up any of the different Bomb cakes, they all make great additions to any show. This cake is an average priced 500 gram cake. It can range from about $23 to $35. These cakes are pretty popular and made by a big name brand so they should be available at just about any large fireworks store.

Artillery Shells: One of my favorite artillery shells is Echo in the Ear by Winda Fireworks. These shells are 60 gram canister shells, the maximum legal limit. They have the loudest thump to them when coming out of the tube and have huge breaks once they explode in the sky. Echo in the Ear also have great effects to them. They feature just about all of the effects you could want. These shells have shimmering, crackle, falling leaves, and many more. Echo in the Ear shells are among the most expensive aerial shells on the market. A full pack of 24 shells will cost anywhere from $60 to $110. These are also very popular shells, but might not be available at every single store.

Another artillery shell that is a great product is the Everest Shells by Brothers Fireworks. These shells are not full 60 gram canisters. They are about four inches tall and probably around 40 to 50 grams. This makes the shells under the legal limit so they will not be the loudest or biggest shells available. But, they are still fantastic shells. Even though they do not have the maximum composition to them, they still have great effects and large breaks. The best thing about these shells is that they are relatively cheap. Everest Shells have tremendous value for their cost. They perform almost to the standards of a 60 gram shell, but at a reduced price. A case of 20 Everest Shells will cost around $45 to $50. These shells are a great buy if you are looking for a high performance shell without paying the full price of a 60 gram shell.

The last shell I will recommend is Thunderation. These shells come in a pack of 24 shells. They can be very difficult to find so if you do find them, you should definitely consider picking them up even if they carry a high price tag. Thunderation have the biggest breaks of any shells on the consumer market. They pack the biggest punch of any shell I have ever seen that are not professional grade shells. Some people say that they might be overloaded shells, containing more than the federal limit of 60 grams. Others say that they are just 60 gram shells exploding at a lower height, causing the breaks to seem louder and bigger than other shells that travel higher. Regardless, these are amazing shells and you have to try them if you are in to artillery shells. They are a bit pricey ranging from $80 to $120 for a case of 24 shells.

Videos: Some recommended YouTube channels to follow fellow pyros are the accounts "Displayfireworks1" and "Pyro Nation". These are two amazing fireworks accounts that are always posting videos. They post videos showing them demoing cool products, showing off their fireworks stashes, or even informational videos about how to set up shows or practice fireworks safety. I highly recommend you check these two channels out if you are interested in hearing more about fireworks.
