Fireworks Debate

I love fireworks. They are my passion and I love to use them in my free time. But, there are many people that do not like fireworks because they think they are dangerous and harmful to society. Below, I will post the arguments for and against the use of fireworks.

Pro Fireworks

Fireworks are a great way to have fun. If you are safe and responsible with them, they can be very enjoyable. The bright lights and loud noises can entertain anyone, regardless of age. Fireworks are also a very positive economic force in our country. People spend millions and millions of dollars on fireworks each year. The industry provides full-time and seasonal jobs to the economy, as well. The sale of fireworks helps to drive our economy with money spent and providing jobs. The amount of money that the fireworks industry brings in for the government and economy far outweighs the negative safety consequences associated with their use. It also gives business to insurance companies. Fireworks companies require very large insurance policies to operate and this gives insurance companies lots of business that they wouldn't otherwise have if fireworks were illegal and banned everywhere.

Against Fireworks

Fireworks are fine to use when people know how to use them, and do so safely. The problem is that many people do not do that. They use fireworks in a very unsafe way, doing dangerous things with the products. Fireworks explode and are often unpredictable. People are literally playing with fire and flash powder. This is a dangerous combination and can often lead to injuries, property damage, and even death. The positive impacts to the economy that fireworks bring are just not worth the risks associated with the products.
