Shelton Fireworks Critique

Shelton Fireworks has stores all over the Midwest. In fact, it is the closest fireworks store to me. They  have a location only a little over an hour away from my home. Shelton is a great place to pick up some average products and get them for a decent price. But, I am not a huge fan of Shelton. They almost exclusively carry their own brand of products in their stores. This makes for zero variety of products on the shelves. They are all in house brand that are sub par in performance. It seems as if Shelton is more concerned about their profit margins rather than providing a high quality product to the consumer. Shelton fireworks are almost always watered down, of poor quality, and have many duds. A dud is when the firework does not perform the expected effect when lit. For example, a bottle rocket would be a dud if it propels itself into the air but then does not explode. Shelton's high dud percentage is indicative of the quality of their products. But, you would think that if they have their in house brand to offer, it should be at decreased prices compared to competitors. This is not the case with Shelton. They price their products at or above the competition who provides a much higher quality product to the consumer. Shelton is successful because of the high amounts of inventory they carry in their stores. It is a draw to customers to visit a huge warehouse full of thousands of fireworks.  But, once you step inside you will realize that Shelton has no variety of brands to their products, has higher prices than the competition, and you will be disappointed when you go home with your fireworks and many of them are duds and do not perform to your expectations. Because of this, I would recommend people to go to Shelton Fireworks if they truly have to pick up a few things. If you are looking for a good deal on a large amount of product, or looking for high quality products, you are much better off visiting a store like the Fireworks Superstore in Hannibal, Missouri rather than Shelton Fireworks.
